Learn to fly in our Eurostar two seat aircraft for only £140 per hour Dual Training (solo PPL hire £90 per hour).
Members fly the club Eurostar for only £90 per hour solo. Cheapest solo rate in the South West.
To fly the Eurostar you can become a Pilot Member for only £250 per annum, which includes all Landing Fees and any refresher training / currency check flights once qualified or converted to type.
Learn to fly in your own aircraft whatever the type ie from Microlight, tailwheel , biplane, home built, motor glider or any single engine light aircraft. Dual Training on any type is £45 per hour.
Learn to fly on a tail wheel aircraft; we have available a Bellanca Citabria 7KCAB .... £180 per hour Dual Training
De Havilland Chipmunk .... £200 per hour Dual Training
Learn to fly a glider with the North Devon Gliding Club. Training takes place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from Easter until end of October. Launching is by Aerotow and the approximate cost per flight is £60.

High Flyer at 16 years of age and only 14 hours of flight instruction.
Eaglescott Airfield, the home of the Devon Air Ambulance, youngest member, Adam Hughes aged 16, flew his first solo flight after just 14 hours of flight instruction. "The aircraft an EV97 Eurostar is a demanding aircraft to master, and Adam has done well to achieve the high level of competency required to go solo in so few hours" said Chief Flying Instructor Barry Pearson.
"Adam started coming along to the Airfield when he was 14 and began helping members at the club. He began to develop his skills with many of the day to day tasks of welcoming visiting pilots, refuelling aircraft and helicopters, answering the telephone and making tea! "
Before long he was able to proficiently carry out the daily inspection, on behalf of the Chief Flying Instructor, on different aircraft; those being the Eurostar, De Havilland Chipmunk and Tiger Moth aircraft and a Bergfalke Glider.
In addition, Adam performs the introduction and initial briefing of the aircraft to people coming along for their trial flight lesson, prior to a handover to the Instructor. He has assisted with maintenance of various aircraft and equipment.
Adam now assists newer students, some of whom are in their 50's and 60's, with their air law and radio procedures.
16 must be Adam's lucky number since he can also add to his achievements, 16 flights in different types of aircraft, with club members and visiting pilots aircraft.
Adam is currently a Year 11 pupil at Okehampton School and lives in Dolton with his Mum, Dad and sister who run the local store and post office. When Adam first arrived at Eaglescott, he professed to a desire to become an Accountant, however after two years at Eaglescott and one week work placement with an Accountant last Summer, his views seem to have changed somewhat!!! He hopes to go on to University;
And the future Adam? "Well it's all up in the air isn't it!"
